The Z313 Enamel Rater measures the lacquer integrity of metal food cans. The gauge can be specified for conveyor loaded (automatic) or fully line fed (in-line) operation. Both systems can be specified with Torus’ optional LSM / ISG recognition camera module for colour spray dot identification, ensuring SPC data output is tagged with the relevant traceability for effective remedial actions.

Ability to inspect can body diameters from 202 – 300 and 15cl – 56.8cl sizes without change parts is a standard feature. Ideal for swing lines and plants producing two or more body diameters on multiple lines.
High accuracy rating system
Filling the can accurately, without agitation has traditionally been a key problem for can-makers. Using our Posi-fill metered filling system, with accurate flow control, each can size is configured with an appropriate fill speed and fill quantity to ensure no short fills or false mA readings near the brim of the can.
In-cycle conductivity monitoring ensures the electrolyte solution is fit for purpose, and prompts the operator when a change is required. Software indicators also warn of low solution level and prompt the operator to refill before the critical level is reached.
