Torus & Hexagon compete in annual golf day
15th Aug 2018
On Friday 27th July employees from Torus joined employees from our valued customers at Hexagon bright and early at Cleobury Mortimer Golf Club for the eagerly awaited Torus Golf Day. A group of contractors, students and employees from other local and partner companies made up the ‘Rest of the World’ team, making it 3 groups of 8 and 24 players in total. After being fed with bacon rolls and unlimited cups of tea and coffee, the players headed out onto the course. It was a sunny day, with temperatures reaching highs of 29 degrees Celsius and so after approximately 6 hours and 18 holes out in the heat, the golfers were pleased to retreat back to the clubhouse to relax before dinner and the prizegiving ceremony.
Everybody was in high spirits and keen to find out who had come out on top on this particular day. The first prizes to be announced were 3 prizes set up by Torus. These were nearest the pin on hole 5, first 9 (Deer Park), nearest the pin in 3 shots on hole 7, back 9 (Foxes Run) and nearest the line on the fairway of hole 9, back 9 (Foxes Run). These were won by Gary Brice (team Hexagon), Bill Earlie (team Hexagon) and Ali Dovey (team Torus) respectively.
Afterwards, individual runner up Paul Jelfs and individual winner Keith Brown were announced. The overall team winners were Hexagon, who pipped Torus to the post by just a few points. We’re already looking forward to the rematch next year!
Overall a great day out was had by all. Thanks and well done to everyone involved!
