Torus Measurement Systems external and internal taper measurement systems were developed and manufactured specifically to meet a demand in femoral head production. Torus gauges replace traditional air-gauging methods which can be subjective and high maintenance and also CMM’s which take up valuable floor space and a degree of specialized software training. The taper gauge family are designed for operational use on the shop-floor therefore giving the machine tool operator or quality control personnel a quick and repeatable measurement without having to go to the inspection lab. Typical cycle time floor-to-floor is 10 seconds.
